Commonly Asked Questions:
How do I book my appointment? All clients should book a consultation first no matter thier chosen American Vixen OPM service. It is important to have an opportunity for both parties to get all of the information on pre and post care. For eyebrows it is especially important so shape and design can be discussed allowing the artist to customize the service to your wants. Every consultation has a non-refundable fee of $100 which is credited to your American Vixen OPM service of choice.
Is it going to hurt? Owner and artist, McKenna Sligh, follows the OPM technique for numbing the area. OPM's numbing cream and gel is one of the highest concentrated lidocaine on the market. When combined with the numbing technique and the OPM patented machine pain is minimal. Most clients won't feel a thing after 10-15 minutes into the treatment.
How long does the treatment take? The consultation appointment will last around 30-45 minutes and the actual procedure will vary. Brows will take around an hour and a half up to two hours, eyeliner will take around an hour and lips will be around an hour s well. The touch up appointments will usually take around the same amount of time.
When do I come in for my touch up? A four to six week touch up which is recommended as this appointment allows for more definition and longer lasting retention. Some clients, based on their lifestyle or preference, will choose a touch up at the one year mark (see price list). Anything after the one year mark will be considered an entirely new service instead of a touch up. We recommend waiting until after the two year mark at this point.
How long does it last? The patented OPM machine is specially designed for permanent makeup. It is unique in the way it does not make the client bleed which is a sign of trauma to the skin as well as lends itself to minimal down time because it only goes to the deepest layer of the epidermis and not the dermis. The average person will see no change in their retention for two years. After the two year mark it will be left up to the client's preference.
